Have you ever taken a greyhound bus ride? What is it like? Would you suggest it?
It's a good $100 cheaper than flying in a plane. Is it worth the money to fly? I am looking at a flight/bus ride from Joplin, MO, Kansas City, MO, Oklahoma City, OK, Branson/Springfield, MO, to Jacksonville FL. Thanks!

been on one from albany, ny to columbus oh.. if you are travellling alone, its not bad, they have upgraded lots since i went. also, only pack enough for a carry on, dont put your luggage under the bus, as it 'gets missed'. don't don't don't go with kids!!! err, i have one and i would never!!!!!

I'd rather try my hand at diy brain surgery than try to save $100 by taking a bus instead of a plane.

Long-haul buses are what you take only if you have no other choice. The passengers are often less than cultured and polite, and the rest room facilities are primitive. Did my time, wouldn't go back.

I have traveled via greyhound since I was a child, on short and long trips and have never had any problems. I've actually had more problems with missing luggage with flying, never lost a bag on the bus. I like it because its scenic and cheap. With flying you will get to your destination quicker, but if time isn't an issue save the money and go greyhound.

It's not bad, they play movies and you can get off at every stop to buy a snack or have a smoke. Take the bus the shortest distance if you get cramped up easily.

Save 100 total...do you mean round trip? So you say $50 a trip? Go for the plane...much faster and easier.

I have been on grayhound from Panama City FL. to NY and its terrible. Long ride besides. The stops are short, having to listen to fightingand others problems. Better to spend that extra $100. for a shorter ride, not as long to listen to someone problems. Pros for a plane: short trip somewhat clean restrooms headphones (block out noise) on board movie no sex in the seats Pros for a bus: cheap (you get what you pay for)

In my youth I would thake the Greyhound between Birmingham,Alabama and Panama City,Florida.This 300 mile trip would take between 7 and 8 hours,so the first down side could be the time factor. But on the trip I'd take a long nap so when I did get to Panama City I could get to the beach and be somewhat rested.So a positive was you could get some rest. The cost was fine but at times some of the people youd meet are a little on the frightening side.So another set back. During the trip you can see things in the country side you would not beleive and can see America as if a pioneer.So this is a bennifit. So overall the adventure is worth it but for the money saved verses time I'd fly.
