I need to add a flight to my itinerary, what should I do?
Okay, I am flying in Nov. from Kansas City to Minnesota, then Minnesota to New York, then New York to Senegal (West Africa). Then in January I return back. I already bought the tickets. The problem is that I need to add a roundtrip connecting flight from Senegal into the country Gambia that is right next to it. It's a short flight like just 40 minutes flying time.

I think you will have to book a separate flight or travel by land. If your airline allows you to change tickets for no charge then there would be no question asked. Not sure what else you can do, just evaluate your options and see which one is cheapest.

I would just book a seperate round trip from Senegal to Gambia.

Find a round trip flight to senegal and gambia, and do have better time margin also.
