Would peroxide help my inner ear itching?
I fly a good 1 to 2x a month more at times to Kansas City, well since I started flying more frequently again my ears have the worst itch like a mosquito bite in my ears but not. My ears are clean as a whistle but the itching is so intense. would maybe peroxide help or Benadryl? From where I live in a rural community it is about a 90 min flight each way to KC and it isn't a super high altitude flight like a commercial airline, but more like 8000 ft max and usually 4 pass planes with with headphones etc.... more than anything it is super annoying and is starting to not go away and YES I chew gum to pop ears but it doesn't help the itching like a friend said it would... PS sorry for the grammatical errors but its midnight and Im tired lol

No, to not induce any liquid into the ear cannal. See a doctor. Trying home remidies is how complicated injuries occur, its simply not safe.

Take it from someone who has had a lot of issues with her ears. Go to the nearest pharmacy, get a cheap bottle of store brand of STRAIGHT SALINE NASAL SPRAY. Yes, I said nasal spray. Saline only, nothing else. When your ears itch, or if you have tinnitus (ringing or humming in your ears), shake the bottle and spritz it into your ears a couple times. The nasal sprayer tip is the right size to fit the opening of your ear, but won't go down the canal. It may take some practice to learn how get enough but not so much that it runs out of your ears. Saline will clean your ears, dry up any irritation or mild infection or fungus, and if dryness is causing the problem, the little bit of salt in the solution will attract some moisture from the air. Stuff was like a Godsend for me. Two other bits of advice. Never, never ever clean your ears with anything metal (like bobby pins or keys-- my spouse uses his car key to clean his ears and it drives me nuts because, not only is it disgusting, but if I have ever touched my ears with anything metal, I got an ear infection every time!). Finally, quit OVERCLEANING your ears. A certain amount of earwax has a purpose in nature, believe it or not. It protects your ears from bacteria. So, break the overcleaning habit. Use 2 cotton swabs max, and only after a shower or bath. If you really think you need more than that, make a regular twice a year appointment with an ear, nose and throat doc for simple irrigation cleaning.

I have had major problems with inner ear itching as well and went to see a Ear Nose and Throat specialist this is what the recommend over a $50 bottle of prescription ear drops. Use equal parts rubbing alcohol and regular vinegar. I use a children's medicine dropper and place it in an old vi sine bottle using 1/2 tsp of each.
